Upon the results of 2016 Petropavlovsk CHP-2 being one of the largest and stable enterprise of Northern Kazakhstan has achieved impressive operational results: electric capacity of the station has reached 541 MW while heat capacity was 713 Gcal/h.

Compared to 2015 capacity of the station increased by 62 MW (or 11,5%), volume of generated electricity by 398 mln kWth (or 12,4%), heat energy output by 43 thousand Gcal (or 2,3%), electricity output from station bus bars by 365 mln kWth (or 12,9%). In 2016 Petropavlovsk CHP-2 demonstrates growth of electricity output volumes by 10,684 thousand kWth compared to planned volume, this was a result of reduced consumption of electricity for own needs of the station by 1,02% from the volume of generated electric energy. Thanks for the reduction of specific coal consumption of fuel equivalent, economy of coal by results of the year amounted to 26,668 tons.

Over the past year station underwent capital repairs of three boiler and one turbine units as well as current repairs of eight boiler and five turbine units. In 2016 two large projects were implemented at Petropavlovsk CHP-2 within the frames of investment program – commissioning turbine unit #5, which was put into operations after full replacement and boiler unit #12 after its reconstruction. New turbine unit with the capacity of 95 MW will allow to generation more than 700 mln kWth per year, while reconstructed boiler unit with the capacity of 270 tons of steam will allow to additionally generate 363 mln kWth of electric energy compared to 2016. At that efficiency rate of turbines will constitute 39,7% and 90,8% for boilers.
