In 2015, CAEPCO JSC continues a grand-scale modernization of stations in regions of Kazakhstan. Each project brought into life is a considerable step forward that was preceded not only a teamwork of professionals, but also created environmental conditions.

Completion of two large projects on commissioning of new turbine sets, which increased the rated electric power of Pavlodar CHP-3 up to 525 MW and Petropavlovsk CHP-2 up to 455 MW is an important achievement of CAEPCO group this year. Till the end of 2015, we plan to bring into commission one more turbine set at Pavlodar CHP-3 with the electric power of 125 MW. Start-up of three turbines during the one-year period will become an absolute record on renewal of stations for modern power industry of Kazakhstan. Successful implementation of modernization projects is stipulated not only by a professional competence of team that made surely many efforts to put equipment into operation. Conditions created for such projects are also critical points. In this case a key role in modernization of energy objects belongs to the 2009-2015 cap rates government program. Prior to implementation of the abovementioned program a worn-out and obsolete equipment was operated almost on all power generating enterprises of Kazakhstan. Rates, which were in force that time, didn’t allow making the repair of stations as needed, saying nothing of overall modernization and renovation. Over six years from the day of introduction of the program into power generation sector the real investments, which allowed market participants to renew their fixed assets at the expense of investment component included in energy rate, became to flow. CAEPCO took advantages of the program to improve its performance indicators as much as possible: our stations became more powerful, effective, and ecologically sound. Thanks to implemented large-scale modernization projects more than 2 mln consumers are reliably provided with heat and power.

All projects at CAEPCO objects are implemented pursuant to the 2009-2020 investment program with the total budget of 192 KZT bln. Nowadays, two-thirds of the program is implemented, as is eloquently evidenced by performance indicators. Over 2009-2015, more than 35% of generating capacity was renewed at CAEPCO JSC’s objects: rated electric power increased by 134 MW (12.4%), rated thermal power - by 161 Gcal/h (5.5%), and a thermal power output - by 602 thousand Gcal (9.1%). Altogether, following the results of cap rates program implementation more than 63% of generating capacity will be renewed.

Modernization of stations for our Corporation is real projects that we are ready to continue to assist the development of the power industry in Kazakhstan as much as possible and promote the improvement of social and economic indicators of regions, in which we are present.
