JSC Central-Asian Electric Power Corporation (JSC CAEPCO) has summed up the preliminary results of 2017. The Corporation will go on carrying out the investment program of the equipment modernization to increase generation and reduce losses in the transmission of electric and heat power, and to improve the environmental parameters of assets.
For the Group of Companies, the electric-power production was 7,3 billion kWh last year. For 12 months of 2017, the volume of the productive electric power supply from the Corporation’s station buses increased by 4,4% against 2016. And the volume of the power electric production in 2017 increased by 3,7% due to an increase in the power electric production at the Pavlodar Heat Power Station-3 by 5,5% against 2016. The volume of the heat power supply of JSC CAEPCO decreased by 5,1% against 2016 and was 6142,4 ths. Gcal due to a higher temperature of outdoor air during the heating season and a decrease in consumption volumes.
In 2017, some projects were implemented to modernize heat supply systems in Ekibastuz, Pavlodar and Petropavlovsk as part of the “Nurly Zhol” State Infrastructure Development Program by attracting loan funds from the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development and the own funds of JSC CAEPCO. From 2016 till 2020, the total investments to modernize heat supply systems in the three cities will be 25,95 bln. KZT. For the Group of Companies, the indicator of excess losses in 2017 decreased by 2,6% against 2016 that resulted in the reduction in costs equal to 415,2 mln.KZT. Reconstruction of the heat supply systems will continue in 2018 and will be completed in 2020.
During 2017, the CAEPCO’s units continued to implement some elements of the intelligent electric power system such as SCADA, Automatic System for Commercial Accounting of Power Consumption and ASCAHE and AS PTC. It is important to note that the subsidiaries installed and brought into a trial operation an automatic system for commercial accounting of power consumption to household consumers via the wireless technology of LPWAN.
According to the 2016–2020 Strategy, the Corporation will keep implementing the investment program: by 2020, JSC CAEPCO will increase the share of the generating assets from 54,9% to 65%. In addition, according to the Corporation’s plans, excess heat losses at the enterprises in the regions will be eliminated in 2020.
